Learning deficit leads to tutoring
For more than 8 Years I have been teaching mathematics, German and English in preparation for the main school graduate, and graduating from public schools in Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. Through my intensive teaching practice, I have been able to sensitize my perception of the understanding problems and knowledge bottlenecks of students. The framework plans of the countries provide for a modular lesson plan with increasing levels of difficulty. With each grade level, the demands placed on students continue to increase, The material learned so far is assumed to be known. If the student does not understand something, there is a learning deficit. If this backlog is not immediately caught up in the teaching context in the same semester, there is a constantly widening gap, which prevents the student from progressing and causes unnecessary irritation when learning, can lead to frustration and depression. Bridging this knowledge gap is often only possible with the help of an outsider.
With a sharpened eye, I often recognize after just a few minutes where students have their learning hurdles by asking specific questions. These are systematically worked through by me in 90-minute sessions. In the course of my tutoring work, valuable insights and procedures have proven their worth.
